FUNDAMENTALS OF
DIGITAL FABRICATION

Hi there...

...welcome to Thu Nguyen's repository and website.

This repository hosts the weekly documentations for the module "Fundamentals of Digital Fabrication" which I participated during the Winter Semester 2017/2018 as an Elective course for my study program. The course is organized and instructed by Prof. Dr. Karsten Nebe - Director of FabLab Kamp-Lintfort, Daniele Ingrassia - employee of FabLab Kamp-Lintfort and Ahmed Belal - student assistant of FabLab Kamp-Lintfort.

As its name suggests, the course covers fundamental digital fabrication skills used in many FabLabs around the world as well as provides preparation for the Fabacademy 2018.

Outline of the course is as followed:

  • Week 1: Project Management
  • Week 2: 2D & 3D Design
  • Week 3: Laser Cutting
  • Week 4: 3D Printing
  • Week 5: CNC Machining
  • Week 6: Electronics Production
  • Week 7: Electronics Design
  • Week 8: Embedded Programming
  • Week 9: Input Device
  • Week 10: Output Device
  • Week 11: Networking
  • Week 12-13-14: Final Project

During this course I as well as many other students had valuable experiences and learned digital fabrication skills which I believe we could not earn anywhere else. Again, I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Nebe, Daniele and Ahmed for making it available to students.
